You need more advice on how to control pests in your home. Well, youre about to get some. And you need to keep on learning as well. There is no need to let your whole pest problem be handled by other people. Its your home, so you take control too!

If you are having an issue with stink bugs, remember not to stomp or smash on them. Doing so will release a foul odor into your home. Instead, use a vacuum cleaner to suction them up. It is important, however, that you change the bag after doing so or it will begin to smell as well.

Use hairspray to kill cockroaches. If you ever have a cockroach in your home and dont have any bug killer on hand, try using an aerosol hairspray. It allows you to keep a significant distance between yourself and the roach, while being an effective means of suffocating and killing it.

You can kill stinging insects around your home with hairspray. Hairsprays contain chemicals that can quickly kill a variety of pests, and the scents help to keep future pests away.

Fumigate your home on a regular basis if you have had a pest problem more than one time. Some pests are so populated in an area that it can be next to impossible to keep them out of your home. However, if you take preventative measures, you are more likely to succeed.

Always store your food carefully. A lot of insects will smell the food; keep it away. Be sure to keep trashcans emptied, as well. Pests are also attracted to the scent of garbage.

Eliminate pests naturally. Sometimes you dont need to resort to chemicals to control pests. Removing sources of water, food and shelter is one way to get rid of them. This is particularly effective in the case of rodents. If you have pets, dont leave food or water bowls outside, and ensure that you dont have any holes or cracks in the exterior of your home.

Pest likes to hide in cracks and small crevices. You should get a caulk gun and fill all the small hiding places you can find. Check for new hiding places regularly and replace the caulk if you need to. You can spray paint over the caulk if you want to conceal it.

Mint will repel mice and other pest as well. Plant mint all around the perimeter of your house. Mice will not feel that your location is desirable. If mice are posing a problem, drop mint leaves in troublesome areas. This can repel these pesky pests, but use fresh mint leaves.

Put your pets food and water away at night. Pet food is a great meal for most insects and rodents. Having water next to it will only give them something to wet their mouth with. Putting the food and water away will not get rid of the pests, but it will at least reduce where they can get food from.

When you are doing landscaping on your home, you want to plant any bushes or plants at least a foot away from your home. You will experience less issues with spiders and ants getting into your house this way. They will not be attracted to your home if they are further away.

Do you feel like you can take a proactive stance when it comes to the pests in your home now? Go ahead and start implementing the advice youve read, and you will notice how much of an improvement it brings. Continue to learn, and you will take back your home.
